I started this series with a short video of the Mamas that inspire me holding signs that said, "Motherhood is ________" and they filled in the blank. So I thought I would ask my girls what "Motherhood is ________" to them.
I asked them to write the final blog post for this series and I gave them very few parameters and did not edit or even read it until just now as I copied and pasted it on this page.

HOW DO I GET THROUGH THIS without pickling my liver or attaching myself to their waist and screaming “Don’t Go!” as they did on their first day of school?
I am trying so very hard to see myself as a ‘bird launcher’ and not as a soon to be empty-nester, this perspective shift helps, but man oh man. The doubts, did I do enoughs, what ifs, coulda, woulda, shouldas take over my brain some days.
One of my favorite quotes is, ‘Behind every great kid is a Mom who’s pretty sure she’s screwing it all up.’
I believe this is one of the most authentic quotes about motherhood. Mom guilt is a real thing and I do not know a single woman who has not felt this way at some point in her journey, possibly even daily at times. Being a Mom is hard as hell! There are hundreds of thousands of books, blogs, articles, and advice for us moms, but none of them give you the perfect step by step guide on how to do it 100% ‘right’.
