I started this series with a short video of the Mamas that inspire me holding signs that said, "Motherhood is ________" and they filled in the blank. So I thought I would ask my girls what "Motherhood is ________" to them. I asked them to write the final blog post for this series and I gave them very few parameters and did not edit or even read it until just now as I copied and pasted it on this page. Enjoy.

A Letter To Myself 23 Years Ago...

You are about to become a Mama. I know you are scared and not sure what to do and that is ok. Yes, labor can last this long and yes, you will get sick as the hard labor starts. No, you didn’t read these important facts in any of the books you read ahead of time. Dear Veteran Moms of Bigs

  HOW DO I GET THROUGH THIS without pickling my liver or attaching myself to their waist and screaming “Don’t Go!” as they did on their first day of school? I am trying so very hard to see myself as a ‘bird launcher’ and not as a soon to be empty-nester, this perspective shift helps, but man oh man. The doubts, did I do enoughs, what ifs, coulda, woulda, shouldas take over my brain some days.
