Our Story

Even though I can relate to Lloyd Dobler’s crisis of belief in this movie, my mission is much less complicated. I have worn many hats through the years. I was a travel agent for 25 years, a substitute teacher, a classroom aide, and a Zumba instructor. When all of these jobs came to a screeching halt in 2020, I found myself sending random gifts to friends and family just to lift their spirits and let them know they weren’t alone. After some deep conversations with My Tribe and My God, Daymaker Gifts was born!!
My mother was the original Daymaker! She always had a knack for finding creative ways to make people feel special. Growing up I would often find small unexpected gifts waiting on my dresser when I got home from school. A new pair of jelly shoes, the latest issue of Tiger Beat, or a totally rad pair of slouch socks (it was the 80’s). The gifts were usually something I had been eyeing the last time we had been out shopping. They weren’t elaborate and there was no particular reason for these gifts, they were...just because. The gifts made my day every time I received one.
These types of gifts are my favorite to receive, and it's even better when I do the giving. There’s so much joy in looking for small ways to make people smile. Life isn’t always the party we hoped for. Sometimes people need to know they are thought about, shown they are special, and simply be celebrated on a random Tuesday...just because.
It is my hope that the uniqueness of these gifts will inspire you to make someone’s day too. Daymaker Gifts' mission is to create a culture of generosity and year-round giving. Our heart is to make gifts for occasions that Hallmark doesn’t make cards for, and to deliver a smile to everyone who receives one of our gifts.
Daymaker Gifts strives to fill our gifts with products from small businesses, cottage crafters, and companies owned by women and minorities. We also partner every month with a non-profit that is close to our heart, we call these special organizations 'Difference Makers'. We donate $5 from every gift purchased to our featured Difference Maker of the month.
