My dear friends,
Tonight, the North Pole is quiet.
The lists have been crossed off, the reindeer are resting, and the last bits of tinsel have been gently tucked away for another year. I’m curled up by the fire now—wrapped in my favorite cozy blanket, a mug of cocoa warming my hands—resting after a season full of purpose, wonder, and heart.
And as I sit here, I find myself thinking of you.
Because while I may be resting from a job well done… so should you.
This season asked a lot of you.
Your time.
Your energy.
Your presence.
And yet—again and again—you showed up anyway.
You chose to be where your feet were.
You found ways to be generous even on the busy days.
You noticed friends, neighbors, strangers, and loved ones who needed a little extra care.
You gave in ways both big and beautifully quiet.
I hope you know this: what you did mattered.
Sometimes generosity looks like a gift or a meal or an act of service. Other times, it looks like a pause. A listening ear. A text sent at just the right moment. A decision to stay soft in a world that can feel heavy.
All of it counts.
As this Christmas season comes to a close, I don’t see an ending—I see a beginning.
Because generosity was never meant to live only in December.
Our world needs what your beautiful heart has to offer in the weeks and months ahead. It needs your kindness in ordinary moments. Your compassion when it would be easier to look away. Your willingness to love a little bigger, even when the season no longer reminds you to.
And the good news? You already know how to do this.
You’ve been practicing all season long.
So as you step into the new year, my hope is simple:
That you carry this spirit with you.
That you give yourself permission to rest.
That you remember you don’t have to do everything—just the next kind thing.
And that you keep choosing generosity, again and again, right where you are.
From my hearth to yours—thank you.
For your heart.
For your effort.
For being part of this season with me.
Until next Christmas, my friends…
May your days be filled with meaning, your hands with purpose, and your year with countless chances to love well.
