I’m always amazed by the dedication and commitment of essential workers. They don’t just make the season bright; they keep the world turning—often during the oddest hours and under the toughest conditions. From delivery drivers working long nights to bring packages to our doors, to farmers and ranchers waking up before dawn to feed our communities, these everyday heroes deserve a special dose of generosity.
Even here in the North Pole, we know the vital role essential workers play in communities big and small. They’re the ones ensuring everything runs smoothly—clearing roads, delivering packages, and making sure communities thrive. Without them, our world wouldn’t run nearly as smoothly. They keep us safe and warm. They make sure the lights and Wifi are working. They feed us. They clothe us. They clean up before and after us. They make sure our packages arrive on time. AND many of them do this working overtime and into the wee hours of the night or morning to ensure we have what we need. They are vital to each of our communities.
This week, I would like to challenge you to take a moment to thank these incredible individuals for their unwavering commitment, not just during the holidays but every single day.
Generosity Challenge: Here are a few ways you can show appreciation to essential workers this week:
- Drop off a tray of snacks or drinks at your local fire station, hospital, or school.
- Leave a gift card, treat, or thank-you note for your mail carrier or delivery driver.
- Write a heartfelt card or put together a care package for someone who works tirelessly behind the scenes.
- Consider supporting a local farmer or rancher by shopping at a nearby market.
- Simply saying 'Thank You' can go a long way!
Every small act of kindness can mean the world to someone who gives so much. Let’s make this a season of gratitude and cheer for the people who truly deserve it.
